Whether you are in it for the green beer or for the comradery, St Patrick’s Day is a great time to let loose, party, enjoy food, and really sing some Irish cheer. Take a look below at some of the best events happening in the San Luis Obispo area this March 17th!
SLO St. Patrick’s Day Events 2018
McCarthy’s Irish PubLeprechaun on white background
McCarthy’s Irish Pub’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration is a downtown San Luis Obispo tradition that begins with a Dublin St. Patrick’s toast to kick there weekend off right! The pub then continues the party all weekend with green beer, classic Irish whisky, Corned Beef Pasties, Irish Crab Salad, and more for a real taste of Ireland. Open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, McCarthy’s is the place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in San Luis Obispo.
St. Patty’s Day Training Run
Runners of the SLO Marathon and Half Marathon can join other enthusiasts for a St. Patty’s Day Training Run that is being held by Lululemon San Luis Obispo Ambassador and Race SLOCEO, Samantha Alderton Pruitt and Morris & Garritano Insurance. This run will be followed by drinks, snacks, training tips and Q&A about the race. There will also be free beer for all who participate, with the event starting and ending at the brand new Central Coast Brewing location at 6 South Higuera Street.
St. Fratty’s Day
We don’t suggest heading out to St. Fratty’s Day unless you are a college student with a long fuse for nonsense! For those of you new to the Cal Poly scene, the student body comes together every March to celebrate the most sacred of holidays: Saint Fratty’s Day. It may seem like your regular drinking holiday, but students from all over really go all out by waking up before the sun rises and partying from sun up to sun down. Don’t forget, stay off of the roof tops!
