Whether you are visiting our beautiful city for the week or already live here full time, March is a great time to get out and experience all that springtime has to offer in the area. If you, your friends, or your family have spring break coming up, take a look at our list of a few must-visit areas of SLO that will be bustling over spring break vacation.

Where to Visit in San Luis Obispo for Spring Break 2018

Downtown SLO

Visit downtown San Luis Obispo and you will find plenty of attractions for the whole family to enjoy. You could grab something to eat at the family-friendly Splash Café, stop by Powell’s Candy Shop to pick out colorful candy and make your mark on the infamous Bubblegum Alley, or head down to the SLO Children’s Museum for some educational fun and games. Those traveling on a budget will love the historic Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, which offers daily free admission.

Pismo Beach

You never forget the first time you saw Pismo Beach! The beautiful spot features coastal hills that open up to reveal sparkling turquoise waters and long stretches of the San Luis Obispo County coastline. As you work your way toward the sands, you’ll find tons of quaint beach cottages, nostalgic surf shops, and delicious clam chowder joints. Those who like a little adventure with their relaxation can go horseback riding or buggy riding through the dunes thanks to Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area. Visitors can also take a kayak tour into dramatic sea caves along the coast with Central Coast Kayaks.

Avila Hot Springs

There nothing like the Avila Hot Springs! This historic spot gives visitors an experience they will never forget, all while offering cabin and dry tent camping that is only 2 miles from the beaches. Avila Hot Springs is known for yearly fun thanks to its southerly location that gives you some of the best weather in the area. At Avila Hot Springs you can enjoy mineral soaking pools, a heated freshwater pool with double slides, a full spa with massage therapists, group picnic and BBQ facilities, and much more. There is even Wally’s Bike Rentals with access to bike trails close by.
